Innovations in the Val Gardena ski area

In Val Gardena, work is carried out all year round to offer winter sports enthusiasts unique conditions. Among the most important improvements are modernised lifts and two new slopes that will make every skier's heart beat just a little faster.

La Ria - The new black slope in Selva

La Ria, "the difficult one", is a new black slope that lives up to its name. The starting point of the slope, which has a gradient of up to 52%, is at the panorama terrace of the Dantercepies mountain station on the Passo Gardena in the Selva ski area. Due to its unique characteristics, with diagonal swaths, two steep slopes and a wonderful final section that leads across a cross-country meadow, the run is ideal for experienced skiers who like to challenge themselves.

The Pilat slope: Alpe di Siusi to Ortisei

After 25 years, the "Pilat" slope, which starts in Ortisei at the top station of the cable car (which leads up to the Alpe di Siusi), is finally open again. The medium-difficulty (red) slope offers you a winding descent through the forest and a wonderful view over the Val Gardena valley. If the challenge of this slope with an average gradient of 17% is not enough for you, you have the option of switching to the steep Direttissima variant halfway down.
