(Leam Lane) Peacefully in hospital with his loving daughter and granddaughter by his side on the 18th June 2024, aged 76 years. George, a loving and dedicated husband to the late Dot. Hero and Best Dad to Martin, Tracey and the late Lorraine. Precious Grandad to Rhys, Tina, Jenny, Abbie, Brogan and Philip. Second Dad to Graeme and Father in Law to Tracy. Brother to the late Margaret. Cherished Uncle to Della, Leon, Terry, Joy, Angie, Andrew, Carole Anne and all his nieces and nephews and to the late Sasha and Kerry. Treasured friend to Fred and Davey and life-long friend to all in the cricket 'family' from Hetton Lyons Sunday League, County Durham and Northumberland & Tyneside Senior League and his football friends at Boldon CA. A Mass will be held at St Wilfrid's RC Church, Sunderland Road on Monday, 8th July 2024 at 1pm followed by a cremation at Saltwell Crematorium at 2:30pm. (née Fenwick) (Swalwell) Passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday 24th June 2024 at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital aged 89 years. Ella, devoted wife of the late Arthur Allison, dearly loved mother to Kim, David, Thomas and Paul and mother in law to Gordon and Lynne. Treasured grandmother to Gordon, Steven, Donna, Anthony, David, Christopher, Nicole, Mark, Thomas, Wayne, Kayleigh, Jake and 16 great grandchildren. Also, a dear sister in law, aunt and friend. Mary BATEMAN (Postlethwaite)

(Postlethwaite) (Gateshead) Peacefully with her loving family by her side on 23rd June 2024, aged 93 years. Mary, devoted mam of Wilf, Sean, Lisa, Lee and the late Jimmy, treasured grandma to Dean, Richard, Breece and Charlie. Mary was also a much-loved great grandma, auntie and a friend of many. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends are invited to join Mary's family to celebrate her life at Saltwell Cemetery Chapel on Wednesday 10th July at 10:30am followed by Interment at Garden House Cemetery. All are welcome to Join Mary's family at The Dunston Social Club following her Service. Floral tributes welcome. Bernard William James (Obe) BAXTER

Of Buckinghamshire Passed away peacefully at Red House Nursing Home, Maids Moreton on the 27th June 2024 aged 90 years. Bernard will be remembered as its first Headteacher to open Longbenton Comprehensive High School, North Tyneside (1969-1975) and then as Headteacher of Gosforth High School, now Gosforth Academy, (1975-1988). He subsequently worked in the School of Education at Newcastle University. He was deeply involved in the magistracy for thirty years. The funeral will take place at Bierton Crematorium on Tuesday 16th July 2024 at 10.30am. Reception at The Swan, Winslow Road, Great Horwood, Buckinghamshire, MK17 0QN. Family flowers only.

Thomas (Tom) BELL

(Cornsay Colliery) Passed away peacefully on 17th June, aged 87 years. Beloved husband of the late Isabel, a dear Dad of John, father-in-law to Jacqueline, and Granda to Jessica. Patricia Anne (Née Burnip) BIANCHI

(Née Burnip) (Wallsend) Suddenly on 22nd June at home, aged 72. A devoted wife to John and a dearly loved mother of Adele and John. A much loved mother-in-law of Steven and Lynn. A treasured grandmother of Natasha, Jade, Michael, Brittany and Lily and a beloved great-grandmother of Max, Evan, Anthony, Harper, Bailey, Lauren, Charlie and Polly. Patricia will be sadly missed by all of her family and friends. A funeral service to celebrate Patricia's life will take place at 12.45pm on Wednesday 10th July at Tynemouth Crematorium. John George BOYD

(St Anthony's Estate) John George, passed peacefully in hospital on Monday 24th June aged 88 years after a brave courageous fight. Son of John George and Lizzie, loving brother of Betty, Lilian, Jennifer and the late Rose Joan and Sid, beloved uncle to all his nephews and nieces and great nieces and nephews and a loving brother in law to John and the late Harry, Arthur, Eddie, Alan and Molly. There was never a more precious lovely kind considerate loyal brother and friend. He never complained about his many health problems and just dealt with them with dignity and perseverance. He was an absolute inspiration to us all, we will miss him dearly every single day and the love we have for him will never ever fade, God bless you John our hearts are broken. John CARIS

The North East Peacefully at home on June 24th aged 76 years, John. The devoted husband of the late Carol. A much loved dad of Sarah, Jon and Dean. (Glenwright) Peacefully on Wednesday 19th June 2024, at Dovecote Care Home, aged 83; previously of Whickham. Catherine was much loved by all who knew her. A beloved wife of the late Edward, she will be deeply missed by close family and leaves her son Stuart and daughter Julia and sisters Maureen, Edith and Norma. Her funeral will be held at 11am on Friday 12 July 2024, Mountsett Crematorium, with reception to follow at The Owl and Otter, Mountsett, Burnopfield. Family flowers only please. (Wardley) Dennis passed away peacefully at St Bedes Hospice Gateshead on June 26th aged 80 years. STOCKSFIELD, Northumberland - Our beloved father David Smith, passed away at the age of 64 in his home at Brettonby Avenue, Stocksfield on Thursday 6th June, 2024. David was born at Newcastle General Hospital to Dorothy and Raymond Smith on the 30th August, 1959. His sister Margaret Smith, tragically died of pneumonia before her first birthday. Dad started his life at 5 Shibdon Road, Blaydon before moving to his childhood home of Woodentops, Woodside Road, Ryton. Our dad married Julie Ellen Smith (née Loraine) and enjoyed married life together at 21 Painshawfield Road, Stocksfield. Dad attended Hookergate Grammar School where he met his best friend, John Clark. Our father's first job was at his parents' BP Petrol Station on Stella Road, Blaydon. Shortly after, he worked as a Tax Inspector for HMRC before starting his career as Rent Officer at the Blaydon Council Offices. After more than two decades in this role, he became a taxi driver for Axwell Taxis. For a brief spell before his retirement, dad worked at Wentworth Grange care home in Riding Mill. David is survived by his sons Paul Robert Smith (eldest) and Mark David Smith. Our dad died far too soon and will be sorely missed. A service is to be held at the Holy Cross Church in Ryton on Friday 5th July at 1:15 pm, followed by cremation at Mountsett Crematorium, Dipton. A reception is being held at The Falcon Inn, Prudhoe at 3:30 pm. All those who knew David or the family are most welcome to attend.
