The doll is Charlotte the Dog from Cuddle + Kind. This doll was a gift to Harper when she was born and also came it came with a little bio.

There’s nothing that makes my tail wag more than frolicking through a field of wildflowers with the sun on my back. My heart is always full and my soul always grateful for the many blessings in my life. You, for instance! Let’s be BFFs and hold paws while we skip into the sunset. Favorite quote: “With grace in her heart + flowers in her hair.” I love that Charlotte is wearing a flower crown.

The Goal of Cuddle + Kind is to provide 1 million meals a year. 1 doll provides 10 meals to children in North America and around the world. These dolls are all crafted in Peru.

Cuddle + Kind’s Five Values:

Every child deserves enough food to eat and the opportunity to thrive. It’s what motivated us to start cuddle+kind and it’s why we give 10 meals to children in need for every doll sold.

Every child deserves an education and needs the energy to learn. It’s why we believe in and support school meal programs around the world.

Every child deserves the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty they were born into. Good nutrition and an education are the keys to this opportunity.

Girls and women should be empowered. Childhood hunger and malnutrition disproportionally affects girls. For instance, school meal programs help increase the number of girls who are sent to school to get both a meal and an education.

All the people who make our dolls deserve to be treated with fairness, dignity and kindness. We are committed to ethical production, which means all our artisans are empowered with equitable, sustainable employment and are paid a fair trade wage.

I wanted decorative cookies. With regards to cookies, I purchased the Boho Cookies from LV’s Bakery. She required a signed contract and half of the deposit ahead of time and was prompt with delivery. The cookies were designed ornately and each cookie was individually wrapped. I purchased three Small Easels to display the cookies on the table.

Do you like the flowers on the rails above? I purchased the flowers from Michaels Craft Store. Michaels always has a coupon on their website for 40-60% off one item. Sometimes they do 20% off all sale items. My mom pulled apart the flowers and taped them along the fence. We incorporated feathers with gold tips from Michaels.

Next, I wrapped them with ribbon from the Dollar Tree. Dollar Tree offers a nice assortment of glassware for just $1 each – jars, bottles, vases, candleholders, and more! By the same token, you can do so many things with glassware, and they look beautiful when filled with flowers. You can get twine, Mod Podge, ribbon, tissue paper, craft rape, glitter, and ribbon. It created a whimsical entrance to the outdoor boho bash.

By the same token, I wrapped a Garland from Michaels and intertwined Silk White Peonies. I found on Amazon. The Peonies looked most realistic when I pulled apart with wire cutters. I had these from my wedding as well. You can view my DIY wedding here.

Michaels Craft Store does not only offer a 40-50% off coupon weekly, they take competitors coupons as well. More importantly, you can stack your coupons at check out from JoAnn Fabrics and Hobby Lobby. Most craft stores will offer this to you.

By the way, I found the mirror from a thrift store for $3 and used a gold marker to write “Harper Bella’s Boho Birthday Bash”. These were supplies I already had around the house and wanted it set the mood as guests arrived.

MOMosa Bar

Isn’t a first birthday party for the adults anyways? I wanted to incorporate a mimosa bar at the Boho Bash.

First, I printed the sign off Etsy from the Strawberry Print Shop. With bachelorette, bridal, and baby showers in my future, I know I will be able to get additional use out of the design.

Furthermore, I bought the prosecco, orange juice and cranberry juice in bulk from Costco. You can use grapefruit juice or peach juice as well. You can incorporate peaches for color for the bar but stuck with blackberries, blueberries and pomegranate seeds.

With regards to champagne glasses, I ordered 30 piece Gold Champagne Flutes from Amazon. I picked these after reading several 5-star reviews and looking at pictures. I thought that they had a very elegant look for a good price.

It was important for my to jazz up the trees. I found the Pink Vases at the Dollar Tree. I hung with twine to the tree and fill with water and white daisy’s. Harper’s birthday is in January and consequently, no leaves on our tree so I wanted to give it some color.

I found the white letters ONE at Michaels Craft Store. I hot-glued whicker, ribbon, and feathers and spray painted the E-gold.

Next, I needed dream catchers. I found these Dream Catchers at FIVE Below. Admittedly, I doctored them up by hot-gluing feathers and ribbon. If you have never heard of Five Below; everything in the store is under five dollars. They have Halloween costumes, essential oils and diffusers, yoga mats, fitness balls, makeup, games, and arts and crafts.

Initially, I found Harper’s Romantic Flower Crown at Claire’s.

Flower lower crowns have been taking the world by storm. Whether it’s a baby shower, music festival, wedding, or first birthday party, flower crowns seem to be the go-to accessory nowadays. There’s something whimsical and feminine about flower crowns. And I was over the moon to have them at Harper’s Boho Birthday Bash and I think my friends enjoyed creating and wearing them too.

How to Make a Flower Crown Station:

I am very fortunate to have a dear friend own a local flower shop; A Touch of Class in Havana, Florida. Edna was able to order the flowers in bulk for our party. I recommend visiting your local florist and inquiring about seasonal flowers and specials. Trader Joe’s has a lot of variety and low costs too.

Flower ideas: Spray Rose, Gysophila, Asters, Wax Flower, Grape Poms, Ruscus, Shasta Daisy, Alstromeria, Dahlia, Peony, Anemone, Carnation, Ranunculus, Baby’s Breath, Astilbe.

Greenery ideas: Myrtle, Ivy, Leather Fern, Dusty Miller, Lemon Leaf, Seeded Eucalyptus, Jazmine, Rice Flowers.

Materials & Instructions:

+Fresh Flowers (real or silk) and Greenery

+Hot Glue Gun & Glue

+Floral Wrap

+ Scissors

Step 1. There are two different ways you can make the base of your crown. For our flower crowns, we used greenery (ivy or rosemary) to make a circular wrap and fit it to the head. Tape the circle shut with floral wrap. Alternatively, you can use floral wire by forming it into a circular shape, fitting to your head and cutting with wire cutters.

Step 2. If you used wire, wrap greenery around the wire with floral tape to cover the wire. If you used greenery for the base of the crown, skip this step.

Step 3. Now it’s the fun part. Take your scissors and cut your flowers leaving 2- 3″ stems. You can always cut away access once on the crown.

You can wrap the flowers around the crown in two ways.

Step 4. Option 1- electric frying fan and hot glue. Edna, my friend with the flower shop got creative. The glue pot was how she solved a dilemma years ago creating 150 corsages. She brought an electric frying pan and melted the hot glue. All we had to do was dip our flower stems and wrap around the crown. Brilliant.

Option 2- Use floral wrap and wrap each stem around the crown until all of the wire and greenery are covered. Easy and clean.

Step 5. You can keep your flower crown fresh by storing it in the fridge for a couple of days. Spritz the crown with water to help maintain moisture and store in a sealed bag or Tupperware container and place in the fridge. Do you want your flower crown to last even longer? Try faux flowers instead. They will work beautifully.
