23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (2)

The pink star aglaonema belongs to the Aglaonema genus in the Araceae (arum) plant family and is native to southeast Asia and New Guinea. Most plants of this genus are commonly called Chinese evergreens, but this aglaonema is special – it has almost entirely pink leaves. Shaped like elongated hearts, the leaves of Aglaonema ‘Pink Star’ feature rosy hues that range from blushing pink to fuchsia and are rimmed in deep green.

2. Tricolor Kalanchoe (Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi ‘Variegata’)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (3)

This pink houseplant is a succulent subshrub native to Madagascar. Commonly called the tricolor kalanchoe or aurora kalanchoe, Kalanchoe fedtschenkoi ‘Variegata’ belongs to the Crassulaceae (stonecrop) plant family. While many kalanchoe plants are known for their bright-green, waxy, paddle-shaped leaves, this species’s leaves are notably smaller and encircle the central stem to form a sort of soft rosette. The plant is mainly recognized for its uniquely colored leaves that are rimmed with fuchsia and feature salmon-pink variegations.

3. Arrowhead Plant (Syngonium podophyllum)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (4)

Arrowhead plants are native to the tropical regions of the Americas and belong to the Araceae (arum) plant family. They have leaves shaped like sharp arrowheads. Not all varieties of this species have pink leaves or pink markings, but several do. These pink-colored arrowhead plants range in saturation from leaves that have just a few pink veins to leaves that are 100% pink. Some popular pink varieties include ‘Pink Margerita’, ‘Pink Leaf’, ‘Neon Arrowhead’, ‘Neon Rubusta’, and ‘Pink Dreams’.

5. Pink Jelly Beans (Sedum x rubrotinctum ‘Aurora’)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (6)

The pink jelly beans plant is a popular type of succulent that gets its common name from the appearance of its waxy leaf segments that are (you might have guessed) pink and shaped like jelly beans. This delightful variety does not grow naturally anywhere; it is a man-made hybrid of two species, Sedum pachyphyllum and Sedum stahlii which are native to parts of Mexico and Central America.

6. Variegated Rubber Plant (Ficus elastica ‘Ruby’)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (7)

Native to a region that spans eastern south-central Asia from Bangladesh to Thailand and Vietnam, the Ficus elastica is a tropical plant that belongs to the Moraceae (fig) plant family. The plants have slender, sturdy, brown stems from which large, glossy, ovate leaves sprout out in all directions.

Traditionally, this plant’s leaves are deep green, but the variegated varieties feature markings in light green, maroon, or pink. The ficus ruby is a variety of variegated rubber plant that has leaves splashed with bright-pink markings that can run the length of the veins or rim the leaves.

7. Pinstripe Plant (Goepertia ornata)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (8)

The Goepertia ornata is a species of plant that belongs to the Marantaceae (arrowroot) plant family. Until recently, the species was categorized in the Calathea genus, and so it is commonly referred to as Calathea ornata. The species is native to Venezuela and Columbia.

While there has been confusion in the past about the plant’s taxonomy, there’s no doubt it belongs on this list. The pinstripe plant features large, glossy leaves in a dark shade of green, and the undersides of the leaves are a deep maroon. The tops of the leaves feature rows of double stripes that radiate outward from the central vein, and these stripes appear in a light shade of pink. The pink pinstripes run up and down either side of each leaf.

8. Coleus (Coleus)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (9)

Both a common plant name and a scientific plant name, Coleus refers to an entire genus of plants that includes herbs, shrubs, and succulents. The genus belongs to the Lamiaceae (mint) plant family and has a broad native range that spans most of the tropical and subtropical regions of Africa, Australia, and southern Asia.

Coleus plants are popular for growing in gardens and indoors because their foliage has ornate markings, ruffles, and variegations. The ti plant earns its place on this list thanks to its palm-like poms of lance-shaped, magenta foliage. The ti plant’s brightly colored leaves sprout in large bunches from the plant’s central trunk, and they are truly lovely to behold. In their native habitat, they can reach up to 15 feet tall. While they can grow to be large houseplants, they will remain more compact outside of their natural environment.

10. Pearl of Nurnberg (Echeveria ‘Perle von Nurnberg’)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (11)

A member of the Crassulaceae (stonecrop) plant family, Echeveria ‘Perle von Nurnberg’ has roots in South America and Central America since it is a hybrid of Echeveria gibbiflora ‘Metalica’ and Echeveria elegans. It is a popular evergreen succulent.

The Pearl of Nurnberg has a rose-like, starburst shape and features the common symmetrical rosette pattern of leaf segments that seem to spiral outward from the center of echeveria plants. This variety of echeveria, however, has striking coloring with vibrant shades of pink and purple marking the leaf segments at the center. These slowly fade out to a dusty bluish-green toward the plant’s edges.

11. Pink Dragon Tree (Dracaena marginata ‘Tricolor’)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (12)

The pink dragon tree is native to Madagascar and sometimes referred to as the Madagascar dragon tree. It’s a member of the Asparagaceae (asparagus) plant family. Plants of the Dracaena genus are popular houseplants because they are relatively low maintenance and easy to grow, given the right conditions.

Like other dragon trees, the pink dragon tree features a skinny, brown, trunk-like stalk topped with a burst of spiky, lance-shaped palm leaves. What sets this plant apart from its siblings is its foliage which features central stripes of green and yellow rimmed with edges in rosy crimson.

12. Earth Star (Cryptanthus bivittatus)

Cryptanthus bivittatus, commonly called Earth star, is a compact species of terrestrial bromeliad that belongs to the Bromeliaceae (bromeliad) plant family and is native to Brazil. Earth stars look a bit like a pile of bright-pink starfish that sprout up out of the ground. The plants form star-shaped rosettes of slender leaves that sprout from the center of the plant in layers. Due to their colorful appearance and small size, they’re a popular addition to terrariums and other container gardens that favor a humid environment.

This species is native to most of the northern regions of South America. The plant’s leaves are large, ovate, and paddle-like, with striking variegated markings that look almost like roughly painted brushstrokes. This particular species comes in pink varieties with pretty pink markings. Some of the most popular pink rose-painted calathea cultivars are known as ‘Rosy’, ‘Dottie’, and ‘Silvia’.

15. Stromanthe (Stromanthe sanguinea)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (16)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (19)

The Belize rubber plant is a variety of Ficus elastica that was cultivated from a naturally occurring mutation in the Ficus elastica ‘Tineke’ plant. The Belize rubber plant does not actually come from Belize. Instead, it is native to a moderate swathe of southeastern Asia. It belongs to the Moraceae (fig) plant family. The Belize rubber plant is set apart from other rubber plants by its leaves which are splashed with peachy-coral variegations all around their margins.

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (21)

Native to a relatively small region of southern Africa, the Kalanchoe luciae ‘Flapjack’ is a species of flowering succulent that belongs to the Crassulaceae (stonecrop) plant family. This variety of kalanchoe gets its name from the pancake-like shape of its broad, flat leaf segments forming clusters around the plant’s center. The leaf segments of this plant are primarily green, but with pink-painted tips, the leaves look as if the plant’s been flipped over and dipped in a pot of strawberry jam.

21. Polka Dot Plant (Hypoestes phyllostachya)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (22)

Hypoestes phyllostachya is a leafy, flowering, evergreen shrub native to Madagascar and belongs to the Acanthaceae plant family. 23. Pink Princess Philodendron (Philodendron erubescens ‘Pink Princess’)

23 Amazing Plants With Pink and Green Leaves (24)

The pink princess philodendron is a member of the Araceae (arum) plant family and is native to South America. While all types of philodendron plants have become popular for growing indoors, the pink princess is highly coveted for its heart-shaped leaves that feature unique variegated patterns in a sweet bubblegum pink hue. The variety is highly sought after but also quite rare. As a result, these pink plants can cost hundreds of dollars.

When shopping for a pink princess philodendron, be careful not to confuse it with a lookalike (some would say “imposter”) plant, the pink Congo philodendron. This variety has similar pink markings on its leaves due to a special injection of chemicals. As a result, the pink Congo’s pink coloring is not long-lasting. The pink princess, on the other hand, features truly pink foliage.
